Grafton receives Daryl Mitchell Award for Outstanding Students


headshot of charmaine graftonCharmaine Grafton, current 91制片厂Pro student and president of the Student Government Association, received the Daryl Mitchell Award for Outstanding Students last weekend at the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association Spring Conference (N4CSGA).

Students honored with this award demonstrate the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Recipients also demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities while serving their community and local community college.

Grafton received the award for the Central Division.

鈥淭o be nominated is one thing, but to win is another,鈥 Grafton said. 鈥淚鈥檓 honored to represent 91制片厂Pro and the entire Central Division as a student leader demonstrating what it means to, 鈥楧o Great Things.鈥 The leadership development opportunities afforded me during my tenure has shaped and molded me for such a time as this.鈥

Grafton is enrolled in the Business Administration program and plans to start a nonprofit after graduation, which will serve as a resource center for women of color.

Daryl Mitchell was a graduate of 91制片厂Pro and served as 91制片厂Pro Student Senate President from 1998-2000.
